Short description

The imgae shows the distribution of the sediment thickness in relation to the slope inclination in a the northern part of the Capivari Reservoir in Paraná State, Brazil.

During the long lasting cooperation with the UFPR in Brazil the topic of GHG emissions from reservoirs was focused in the last years.
Within a number of joint measurement campaigns thw Capivari and Vossoroca Reservoir were investigated. The part of the IWG-SWW was the detection and characterization of the sediment. Based on echo-sounding technology the magnitudes of the sediment and the potential methane production potential was determined. in the actual state of the cooperation the sediment results are joined with the hydro-dynamic results obtained by the DHS, UFPR team (http://www.dhs.ufpr.br/).
