Short description
As a consequence of Climate Change the frequency of drought and flood events in Thailand will increase. The responsible authorities often lack the competence and innovative approaches to cope with extreme events Habitants of the relevant catchments suffer from high economic damage. The goal of the project is to develop Ecosystem-Based Adaptions (EbAs) for the flood and drought protection in two pilot catchments in the North and South of Thailand.
A central part of the IWG work will be the adaption and establishment of a Harmonized Database System for the central holding of relevant data. This development includes the capacity development with the relevant personnel of Thai institutions (Governmental Institutions, Universities, etc.). In addition to the Database, the evaluation and assessment of constructive EbA Measures will be elaborated.
